Every Tuesday we will be offering our readers one time saving and/or money saving tip….something that will make life a but easier and it will not break the pocketbook.
Today’s tip is brought to you by Rose from Rose Knows Coupons!
This week she shares with is her favorite way to prepare ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken.
Standing in front of the stove, while browning your ground meat in a frying pan is one of those tasks that I can’t stand. If you agree, it’s time to put that slow cooker or Crock Pot to work! The great thing about preparing your meat this way is that you can do it in advance and store it in Ziploc bags in your fridge and you will still spend less time preparing it!
Since I’m home during the day, I can easily set my ground beef in my Crock Pot and set it on low for a few hours! When I prepare my meat this way, it actually turns out jucier because you don’t have the hot frying pan searing the meat!
I usually do 2 lbs of meat at one time so then I can use what I need, and refrigerate the rest for another meal.
I basically plop my meat into my slow cooker, cover it and come back 2 hours later! I don’t even stir it when it’s cooking because I know it will not be crumbly chunks like it would be if prepared in a frying pan.
After the meat is done (this will vary depending on your slow cooker or Crock Pot and how much meat you are preparing) I just mix it up and it’s good to go! Because I purchase grass-fed beef, I do not have to strain the beef. There is very little fat and water in grass-fed beef.
Do you have a tip you want to share with me? If so, you can contact me via email here! Your tip could be chosen and featured on Tuesday’s Tips!
Thanks Rose!
