Pirate Week: Go Fishing in Your Very Own Tropical Lagoon

DAY FOUR: TROPICAL LAGOON FISHING

So my five year old LOVES to fish…he goes out on the boat with dad and papaw every weekend he can…so when I broke out these…

….he was thrilled (not as good as the real thing…but close). I picked these up for a buck each at Dollar Tree. You could always make your own I suppose…

Time to hit the lagoon…I did 2 versions (2 different days)…indoor (bathtub) and outdoor (water table or pool)

For the bathtub version I used bubble bath and blue food coloring and brought up the stools from the kitchen. I kid you not, my boys fished for almost 45 minutes. The blue food coloring did not stain my tub, but you might want to spot test first.

For the outdoor lagoon…I added Seventh Generation Dish soap and blue food coloring…then I positioned the sprinkler to hit the “lagoon”….this was also a big hit.

The $2 I spent on a couple of toy rods has entertained my kiddos for 2 days.
