DAY THREE: DIY PIRATE HEADBAND
So my boys are obsessed with Jake & The Neverland Pirates…so I knew this would be a hit…this is another craft that you can pull off for $2 or less…
What you will need:
1/4 yard of Red Fabric per band (well Jake’s headband is red…any color will do)
White Peel & Stick Felt (1 sheet was $.89 at Hobby Lobby)
Black Marker
Scissors
Fabric Glue or Fabric Tape (or if all else fails duct tape)
Directions:
Cut your fabric into strips (1/4 yard) and fold over. Size to fit your kiddo’s head. Glue that sucker down with fabric glue (or tape down). Allow to dry.
Meanwhile… you can draw your design o’ choice on your felt paper…we chose to do the Jake inspired Jolly Roger symbol. Then just cut out. Measure to the center of your head band and peel and stick your design. Then once the head band is dry you are ready to go. It just ties in the back.
My fabric was priced at $2.99 a yard. I did 2 head bands…but I could have done 4-5 headbands with 1 yard. If you don’t have fabric glue that will be your biggest expense. I already had a bottle but the price tag says $3.99….so this is a good time to sign-up for those great Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons or check your Michael’s ad or website here.
We later took a pirate portrait….
