GIVEAWAY: $25 American Express Gift Card (Review of the New Q-Tips Precision Tips + Printable Coupon)

Have you seen the New Q-tips® Precision Tips™?

They are Designed with pointed tips at both ends and made from 100% pure cotton, this new product is perfect for tasks requiring a little more precision. Whether cleaning between tiles or removing dust from tiny crevices, there are a variety of ways Q-tips® Precision Tips™ can help you get the job done!

Have you started Spring Cleaning and Organizing? (I have been for months…it is an on-going battle for me), personally I am not a fan of cleaning…I just like the results (kind of the way I feel about several things- like exercising)…I honestly get so frustrated how quickly a clean house can be destroyed…but I have a lot of help with 2 small, adorable, yet messy children and 2 big old sloppy basset hounds…neither the house or my person really stands a chance at staying clean…

So Q-tips sent me their new precision tips…and asked me how I would use them to clean…

My Favorite Tip:

I found this awesome tip on their Facebook page- cleaning the soles of your shoes! You can wipe dried mud from the grooves of shoes with a Q-tips® cotton swab. They’re just the right size! (Then toss them when you are done)

Keep Your Computer Spotless

To clean the edges of the computer screen and between the keys on your keyboard. PLUS- your Computer Mouse Tracking Ball… Use a Q-tips® cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean your computer mouse tracking ball. It removes the dirt and dust well.

The Aquarium

I often miss and get the food up on the plastic piece there were the lid flips up … it molds within a day…I do not want to use chemicals…and a little Q-tip dipped in water is just the right size to do the trick.

Hard to Reach Places

I have been known to use a butter knife…..this is much safer. You can use Q-tips to removed dirt, dust, and food particles can get stuck in tiny gaps- like in between your stove and counter top surface.

Keep Your Bathroom Spotless

I have 2 boys ages 5 and 2…and let’s just be honest here…”aiming” is an acquired skill…I am not sure at what age this actually gets “acquired”…I will have to get back to you…Anyway, these are great for removing all sorts of grossness around where the toilet seat attaches. I just add a little cleaner, soak and go in with the Q-tip.

A Cleaner Cabinet & more

Dirt and dust can accumulate quickly on the moldings and trim of your cabinets. Q-tips® cotton swabs and Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs are small enough to get into these cracks and crevices and remove unwanted buildup. Also great for scroll work, baseboards, molding, windowsills and more….

Battling Coffee Grinds and well coffee itself

You can use them to remove the black debris from your coffee pot strainer and clean the drain on your Kuerig.

A Spick & Span Washing Machine

Great for cleaning any building up in small compartments of your washing machine. Use Q-tips® cotton swabs to clean out the laundry soap residue that sits in the cracks of your washing machine reservoir.

Other Great Ideas:

Cleaning Hairdryer Lint
When your hairdryer is off, use Q-tips® cotton swabs to clean the lint from the back of the hairdryer.

Shine Up The TV and Video Game Remotes
Put a little alcohol on your Q-tips® cotton swab and clean away!

Polish Light Switches
The neglected light switch…I coat mine in disinfectant once a week…but I rarely really clean them with elbow grease…but I should!

Condiment Edges Stay Clean
Open your refrigerator and take a look…you will probably be surprised at the build-up…I did a thorough frig cleaning 2 weeks ago and I already see LOTS of places that need a touch-up. Plus, use Q-tips® cotton swabs to clean out the spout or around the edges of your condiment bottles.

Keeping Piano Keys & Guitars Spotless
Use Q-tips® cotton swabs to clean the hard to reach places between the keys on a piano and other instruments.

Detailing Car Consoles
This one has my husband’s name written all over it. He is a car man…and he likes a clean car…I drive him nuts…so every weekend he takes my car through the wash and does a thorough cleaning and vacuum. Q-tips® cotton swabs and Q-tips® Precision Tips™ cotton swabs are the perfect size for detailing the crevices of your car’s console.

Q-Tips are great for not just cleaning….you can use q-tips for so many things…

For Arts and Crafts…we used them as Paintbrushes for the kids when we went on vacation and I took the “paint with water” books and forgot the paintbrushes…. They are also great for applying glue or cleaning up extra glue.

Beauty- I use them almost daily….they are great for cleaning up around the eye area and I also use them to blend shadow if I get too heavy handed. They are also great for applying lip color if you forget your lip brush.

AND did you know Q-tips® Precision Tips™ won TotalBeauty.com’s Editor’s Pick for best beauty tool!( info here)

There are SO many uses…you can find out more here.

GIVEAWAY (& Review): One Reader to WIN a Bag of Cinnamon Chips + EVERYONE Gets 50% Off

The Prepared Pantry recently sent me some of their most excellent Cinnamon Chips to try and let me tell you…I have used them in so many things…testing recipes…putting them on this and that…that I barely had enough left to shoot the pictures for the review…time to order more!

Now, at the time of posting this review…these cinnamon chips have a 5 star review rating…currently 8 reviews and 21 ratings…so I am not alone in my opinion of these…they rock!

Now first off, I love cinnamon. So perhaps I am biased… You can use them like you would a traditional chocolate chip…but of course they are cinnamon…I actually tested several recipes…here are a few…

Now before we get into this…I am not a pro in the kitchen…I need something fast and easy…all these recipes are just that.

Cinnamon Bun Pancakes

This is probably my favorite. When we do go out to breakfast at that very famous pancake house…I always order the Cinnamon Pancakes…I don’t even try to be “good” and watch my calories…I just enjoy the awesomeness of the pancakes…because we don’t go that often and life is sort.

Now I recommend getting a great pancake batter and adding the chips into the uncooked batter…this will add more flavor…BUT if you don’t want the mess you can get a good quality frozen pancake (I used frozen minis for the picture above) and layer the cinnamon chips in between the warm pancakes so they will melt. You will still get a great flavor.

I just prepare the pancakes per the directions on the box …I just add in the cinnamon chips. Then as I take each pancake out of the pan I add cinnamon chips on top and then layer each pancake…so the chips melt in between (as you can see below)…then I sprinkle extra on top…

Now here is the fun part…the cinnamon roll glaze…so good…I use a Paula Deen recipe for my glaze (need I say more)

Glaze:

4 tablespoons butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 to 6 tablespoons hot water

Mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add hot water 1 tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches desired consistency.  Pour over the pancakes. This glaze is SO easy to make.  (You can view her recipe for Cinnamon rolls here)

Then I just take the glaze and pour it on top and garnish with a few more cinnamon chips…it is divine! (and fast and easy)

Cinnamon Pumpkin Pancakes

I also did a pumpkin version of this…same procedure…minus the glaze…I actually took them plain, but I did try them with maple syrup too which was also good.

Lazy Snickerdoodles

Don’t judge…I hang on for dear life….I just bought a roll of Pillsbury Sugar Cookie refrigerated Cookie Dough and pressed the Cinnamon Chips into the dough once it softened a bit…you could do these from scratch…but my super fast version was still a hit.

Skinner version of My Sweet Potato

Yes, Sweet Potatoes are good for you…but they are also a fat pill when I get done with one…I like butter, LOTS of brown sugar and cinnamon…and then more butter and brown sugar…

BUT … I just simply added  a handful of cinnamon chips to my hot sweet potato and once they melted they were fantastic…though keep in mind that one tablespoon of the cinnamon chips does have 85 calories and 5 grams of fat…but compared to one tablespoon of butter 100 calories and 11 grams of fat + the 1 tablespoon of brown sugar  which is about 50 calories…you are still saving about 1/2 the fat and calories…plus less to clean up.

Here are just some of the tasty (less lazy) recipes you will find over on The Prepared Pantry site:

Raggedy Ann Cinnamon Chip Muffins
Cinnamon Chip Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast
Sour Cream Cinnamon Chip Zucchini Bread
Cinnamon Apple Walnut Muffins
Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal Cookies with Pecans
Cinnamon Apple Cookies
Orange Cinnamon Cake

I think these cinnamon chips are great to have on hand. Right now at the Prepared Pantry you can save 50% Off each bag!!!! (Limited time only)

Choose:  (You choose: 11oz, 30oz, or 50 lb bags)

New Maybelline Coupons: Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow & Dream Product (+ My 2 Cents)

As you have probably gathered…I love beauty deals…and though I tend to gravitate towards the higher end lines…there are a few exceptions- Maybelline is one of those…I think the have put out some exceptional products lately…and I actually use the Maybelline Dream Airfoam foundation, the Bouncy blush and the Color Tattoo Cream Gel Eyeshadow pretty much daily.

First let me tell you that there are 3 NEW Maybelline coupons available to print this morning…I would print these ASAP..especially the color tattoo shadow…that never last longs..

$1.50 off any Maybelline New York Eye Studio$1.00 off ONE MAYBELLINE NEW YORK DREAM product$1.00 off Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow

$1.50 off any Maybelline New York Eye Studio (Direct Link)

$1.00 off ONE MAYBELLINE NEW YORK DREAM product (Direct Link)

$1.00 off Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow  (Direct Link)

My 2 Cents:

Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation& Bouncy Blush

So I am really loving the Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam foundation…I admit…I tried another brand here…but I quickly switched back. I do like the powder…though I am currently using another product It Cosmetics ByeBye Pores Finishing Powder)

I love the blush… it is the strangest blush ever- lol- it is literally “Bouncy” ….kind of sponging…it suffers from an identity crisis…is it a powder? or cream?…it can’t decide…I LOVE the color and I like it so far…I used to apply it with a brush, but I gave in and just use my fingers now….as far as the highlighting concealer…I have not tried it…though I am a BIG fan of highlighting…and concealing (I use 4 conceal/highlight products daily).

Color Tattoo 24HR Eye Color

I own 4 of these. (Audacious Asphalt, Bad to the Bronze, Too Cool  & Tough as Taupe). I usually stay away from cream based eye shadows, because they like to crease on me… but I like the highly pigmented colors and read a couple good reviews (and I had  coupons) so I gave it a whirl… and I am glad I did.

I either do use The Benefit STAY DON’T STRAY as a primer first (you can check it out here) or I layer another shadow on top.  I apply it with the Definer Brush #15 from Smashbox (you can check it out here)…it is my favorite brush and I have had this brush for at least 7 or 8 years so the $24 investment was worth it for me (or whatever the price was when I purchased it)

Does it crease…well yes a little with the primer…especially after I spent a hour gardening here in the South…but not so much. When I layer a powder shadow on top…I really do not notice any creasing.  Still,  if I apply it in the morning, I touch it up in the afternoon/evening…but let’s face it…everything needs a touch up by then.

Store Deals

I see a lot of Maybelline sales throughout any given month…but right now you can get $5 in ECB at CVS when you spend $15 on qualifying Maybelline products through May 5, 2012. You can view the details here.

GIVEAWAY: One Reader to WIN a Hallmark Mother’s Day “Moment in Time” Gift Pack

Hallmark has some wonderful Mother’s Day Gift Ideas….these are perfect for those of us with little ones…well… who will not always be so little….it is a great way to capture a moment in time….

Conversations to Keep: Recordable Book

- Filled with open-ended questions that spark imaginative answers, “Mom and Me” and “Grandma and Me” Recordable Books capture the answers only a kid can give.

- Within the book, kids record themselves answering a variety of questions, such as “If you and mom were aliens, what would you look like and what would you name your planet?” Or, “What does Mom do to show she loves you?”

- Conversations to Keep: Recordable Books give Mom or Grandma a fun and easy way to capture the true personalities of her (grand) children so she can always remember that little voice and their time together.

- Available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores for $24.95.

Recordable Artwork: Canvas Art Kit

- Kids have drawn pictures for moms for years, but Hallmark’s Recordable Artwork Canvas Art Kit takes a Mother’s Day drawing to the next level by capturing a child’s voice and the story behind his or her artwork. Equipped with a canvas panel, Crayola washable paints and a big imagination, kids can paint mom or grandma a masterpiece that is then inserted into a 9”x9” recordable frame.

- For a unique and final touch, kids record a 40-second special Mother’s Day message into the frame and share their unique story behind their art. With the Canvas Art Kit, a mom can play back her child’s precious little voice and experience his or her big imagination on Mother’s Day and any day.

- Available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores and anywhere Hallmark products are sold for $14.95.

These are just 2 of the many wonderful Recordable Products available this year at your local Hallmark Store. You can find a store near you here.

Review

The fantastic folks from Hallmark sent me some fantastic products to check out and tell you about…and giveaway (see below)….

One thing that having children has taught me in regards to gift giving is this- Grandparents LOVE personalized gifts from the grandkids more than gold, silver and diamonds.

I can buy my parents or in-laws a really nice (pricey) gift and they like it sure…but give them something with the grandkids picture, name or artwork on it and good grief they go bananas…

The Conversations to Keep Recordable Book

The book provides questions you ask your kiddo and you record their answers..

Fun Questions like “If you and your Mom made the world’s grossest pizza what would you put on it?” and Timeless questions like “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

This is something Dads you can SO do and Mom would LOVE it! (Hint hint) Though this does come in a “Grandma” version…

I know my parents still have audio recordings of yours truly singing and talking when I was a pre-schooler. My Dad plays these tapes for Liam (my 5 year old) and he loves it…he comes home and tells me about what I said when I was a little girl. My dad records Liam too. You know the cute sweet little voice will change one day…that makes me a little sad just thinking about it….but this book will let you have that “little voice” to keep…and let’s be honest…kid’s do say the funniest things…their perspective is so different. I love it!

The Recordable Artwork Canvas Art Kit

Now my Oldest Son, who is 5…well his middle name should be “Arts & Crafts”…this is such a great idea for him. You just pop the canvas out of the recordable frame and let the kid go for it. (I had an extra canvas on hand from my college art class days for Reese…so he could participate as well…)

They had a blast!!! …AND Grandmama will LOVE this!

Hallmark Cards

Do you keep cards? I keep the good ones and ALL the cards from my children. There are lots of great options this Mother’s Day…….cards that are just plain funny, cards that light-up and cards with fun surprises…

You can check out all the fun Mother’s Day Gift and Card options here

Remember: Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13th!!!

Giveaway

The Fabulous Folks from Hallmark are giving ONE Lucky Jessica’s Coupons reader a Hallmark Prize Pack to included: Recordable Artwork: Canvas Art Kit, Conversations to Keep: Recordable Book and 3 Hallmark Cards.

This is a Rafflecopter giveaway (Rafflecopter is actually very quick, easy and user-friendly) Just follow the instructions below. You may pick and choose the entry methods you like…skip the ones you don’t like.. (if you are new here then you should know I take a no-pressure type of stance on my giveaways)- though I ask that everyone please do entry method one…Good Luck!
